Scarification We use the very best slit tine scarification machines available. This ensures that this winter task is done correctly. We will always do a lawn treatment for the lawn for moss first, otherwise we would propagate the moss when scarifying the lawn. Although there are some small machines available at the local garden center it is far better for the lawn if the larger, slit tine scarification machine is used. This is because not only does it take out the dead moss and thatch, it will also help to thicken the sward. More importantly when our machine slits the sward at ground level it rejuvenates the plant which stimulates new plant and root development. This action will give you a new lawn for old. Sometimes we recommend that you over seed the lawn.
